The left tackle is a critical component to not only protecting your passing game, but setting up a running game as well. A weak left tackle will be exposed instantly and halt a team's passing almost as quickly as it will sideline its quarterback.
We all know that Rivers isn't a mobile quarterback, so keeping him upright is a huge task. Leading that task is McNeill.
