Coming into the 2009 season the San Diego Padres knew that they were not going to compete for a playoff berth this season but knew that they were in a stage of rebuilding under a new owner. It was clear once the Padres traded Scott Hairston that they were looking to sell high on older players to open up space for the youth in the organization such as Will Venable, Tony Gwyn Jr., Kyle Blanks and Chase Headley. With their eyes on two to three years down it is likely that their will be more trades before July 31st... So who will stay and who will go? ...
