NFL Odds Show San Diego Chargers Favored By 3.5 at Denver Broncos This Week

The San Diego Chargers, the overwhelming favorites to win the AFC West heading into the season, will not even qualify for the playoffs after last Sunday’s shocking 34-20 loss at Cincinnati.

This marks the first season the Chargers will miss out on postseason play since 2005. While their underachieving campaign has some Bolts backers calling for the head of Norv Turner, team president Dean Spanos has assured Turner that he won’t be going anywhere.  His job surely won’t be safe, however, if San Diego disappoints again in 2011.

Turner led the Chargers to the AFC title game in his first season on the job, but they have only won one playoff game since under his watch.
