Oakland Raiders Acquire Five-Time Pro Bowler Richard Seymour
The Oakland Raiders have traded their 2011 first-round draft pick to the New England Patriots for 29-year-old defensive end/defensive tackle Richard Seymour on Sunday. Seymour is a five-time pro-bowler.
The trade is a sign that Al Davis and his Raiders are looking to compete sooner rather than later. Seymour has had numerous injuries throughout his career but, despite this, has still started the vast majority of games.
Seymour will play either right defensive end, or more probably nose tackle, on Oakland's defensive line. The celebrated veteran will further strengthen a unit which, for the most part, has been largely disappointing, especially in the area of run defense.
