Alex Rios Claimed Off Waivers—Would He Fit With the Giants?

According to multiple sources, Alexis Rios has been claimed off waivers. The most likely possibility is the San Francisco Giants, who have been looking for another bat, and have been shopping for Rios, but did not get him before the trade deadline.

This may end up being one of the best moves this season if they can outright acquire Rios at no cost, which the Jays might do in order to shed his enormous contract.

If the Giants end up having to trade for Rios, it may be at a high price, as they were rumoured to have been offering Tim Lincecum for Rios before Lincecum's Cy Young winning season last year.
