Athletics Dodge a Bullet as Hanley Ramirez Goes to L.A.

Yesterday, the reports were running wild that Miami Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez could be traded to the Oakland A's, but today, the reports are that he is officially an L.A. Dodger.  

Even though the A's were left out of the trade, they are the top beneficiary of the trade between the Marlins and Dodgers.

The Marlins are giving up on the 2012 season and slashing their payroll to clear money for next year. Hanley Ramirez has a price tag of about $7 million left this year followed by $15.5 million and $16 million in 2013 and 2014...
