Dodgers-Diamondbacks: Andre Ethier Saves the Day in 4-3 Win
Andre Ethier made a spectacular catch in the eighth inning to save the tying run from scoring and to secure a 4-3 win for the Los Angeles Dodgers over the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks.
With a runner on first base and two outs, Ethier smashed into the right-centerfield wall to take away an extra-base hit from Brandon Allen, preserving a 4-3 lead the Dodgers (79-54) had taken over the D-Backs (60-73) the previous inning on a bases-loaded walk to Ethier.
The run was set up by a Juan Pierre pinch-hit walk, followed by a double from Rafael Furcal and an intentional walk to Matt Kemp before Leo Rosales issued the free pass to Ethier for the go-ahead run.
