On an evening when the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that their ace right-hander Chad Billingsley will miss his start Wednesday with a strained hamstring, opening day starter Hiroki Kuroda reminded the San Francisco Giants that the Boys in Blue have more than just one top of the line pitcher in the rotation.

Kuroda worked 6.1 brilliant innings for the Dodgers (68-45), who broke a three-game skid in front of a hostile Bay Area crowd. He limited the Giants (61-51) to just one run on six hits as Los Angeles won the first contest between the long-time rivals since May 10 by a score of 4-2.
