San Francisco Giants Acquire LHP Jose Mijares in Waiver Claim from Royals

I remember the last time general manager Brian Sabean dealt with the Kansas City Royals: We gave them Jonathan Sanchez, they gave us Melky Cabrera.  That counts as a win in the Sabean column.  

But Sabes doesn't turn off his phone after July 31, oh no.  He keeps right on truckin', guys.  So what does this mean?  Jose Mijares comes to the Bay with no compensation beyond the $20,000 transaction fee.  The Royals had until the July 31 trade deadline to work something out with Mijares, but as the saying goes, "You snooze, you lose."
