2011 NFL Predictions: San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers failed to meet expectations in 2010 as they lost their first five games and finished 6-10. They were 4-2 against NFC West foes, but that wasn't enough to save Mike Singletary.

The 49ers haven't won the division since 2002, but they are hoping that will change this year under the direction of Jim Harbaugh.

Pete Carroll left the Pac-10 and won a division title with the Seahawks a year later, and Harbaugh will be looking to match him. Last season, however, wasn't the first rodeo for Carroll, who had four seasons as an NFL head man under his belt.

Harbaugh has spent two seasons as an NFL assistant but has no head coaching experience at the professional level.
