OK, so the headline is a metaphor, but the real thing is probably worse than the best low jab Al Davis could land in the jewels.
By drafting Darrius Heyward-Bey too high at the seventh pick and signing him for too much the Raiders set the floor much higher for the sixth pick's contract. Which is exactly where the Bengals and Andre Smith have a problem.
According to Profootballtalk.com, the Bengals offer of $33 million is $5.25 million less than the deal Heyward-Bey got from the Raiders a pick later.
