Alex Smith: 49ers Quarterback Has Earned Right to Be Starter Somewhere in 2013

The Colin Kaepernick era has begun in San Francisco. Unfortunately for Alex Smith, that means the end of his days as the starter for the 49ers. 

When the 49ers drafted Kaepernick in Round 2 of the 2011 NFL draft, most fans knew that this day would come, but it has come sooner than expected.
