Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs: A Historic Rivalry, a Hot Encounter

Lloyd C. A. Wells was one of the first African-American NFL scouts. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

Most of his career in the NFL was spent with the Kansas City Chiefs working with Hank Stram. Later in his career, he worked for Muhammed Ali, one of the world champions in boxing.

Wells would talk loud and hard to a couple of Oakland Raiders when they visited Houston, usually during the offseason in those days. Wells would brag that the Chiefs were going to beat the "heck" out of Oakland back in the day.
