Remember Me? Alex Smith Named 49ers’ Starting QB

In the words of Texans DE Mario Williams, "Who?"

Along with most of football nation, Williams was unsure who was taking the snaps during the second half of the Texans-Niners game on Sunday.

Lo and behold, it was Alex Smith, the former first overall pick out of Utah.

To give readers some form of how far Smith has fallen, consider this: When you type "Alex Smith" into the Bleacher Report photo archive, you will get photos from Sunday's game against Houston. Then you get a slew of pictures of Eagles TE Alex Smith. (Smith has appeared in five games for Philadelphia this season with no stats. The pictures I found were from his last three years as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.)
